the death of the greatest pop star that ever lived

June 25, 2009 marks one of the darkest days in pop culture history with the death of the one and only Michael Jackson. When I first heard about this I was in utter shock and could not believe the artist I grew up listening to is gone. I remember the first time I saw one of his concerts on TV. It was when PPV first became popular so my older brother and I decided to watch it. It was by far one of the most epic concerts I have ever seen to date with incredible light shows, exotic animals and even some magic going on. I taped it and watched it many times over until the tape itself finally wore out. Then came Moonwalker which still ranks to be one of my favorite movies. Sure it was kinda cheezy and all but when you have your idol transforming into a car and into some kind of robot/plane thing. Its freaking awesome. He didn't even need weapons but used his powerful scream to shatter everything around him. It was disappointing to see his life fall apart with all of the molestation scandals, ridiculous plastic surgery, and never ending excuses he gave for wanting to be white. Aside from all that, his career paved a way very few and possibly no one can follow. As a child, the Jackson 5 stormed the charts and were icons all over the world. Most artists who try break away from their group band beginnings don't always do as well they once did. But Michael proved everyone wrong and now olds and probably forever will hold the record for the most records sold for one album which is Thriller. There are dozens of copy cats today who want to mirror his success but there are still none to do so. Maybe the only person to come remotely close is Justin Timberlake but we have not heard much from him in quite a while. You will be missed.

PC vs Mac... or technically Windows vs Mac

for quite some time now, there has been an on going debate of which computer is better. PCs or Macs.. for those who know nothing of comps.. in terms of hardware, there is nothing really different between the two. all computers are composed of the same basic components which is motherboard, power supply, hard drive, and optical drive (CD/DVD). other extras are video cards, sound cards, and anything else people wanna add to make their computer perform better. so in the end the REAL argument is between the operating systems you choose to use which is Windows or Mac OS. i believe there are pros and cons to both, and to say one is absolutely greater than the other is pretty ridiculous. both operating systems offer features the other doesnt.

here is an article of a web programmer's opinion and i have to say its probably the best presentation.

Electronic Entertainment Expo 2009 aka E3 2009

since working for the video game industry i had the privilege of going to E3, the world's biggest gaming convention. was i excited? OH YES. being extremely exclusive to industry professionals only and not open to the public, i felt quite special. when i got in i was absolutely amazed at all the lights and exhibits.. as ben and i started walking around, i wanted to see what other industries were also there... and the most i saw was gamespot... GAME SPOT! WTF.. so mank bloody kids there thinking they're all the shiznit rubbing elbows with the people who actually make a difference in the gaming industry. though i have to admit if i was in their position i would be feel great but i would hide the spot on my badge where it says what company im from. that aside, after seeing all the trailers, seeing the exhibits, and playing some demos.. E3 was not as great was i thought itd be. it seriously is just a place full of fanboys who just love everything... all in all id say e3 is pretty damn overrated. i mean it was nice being there and being a part of it but it seriously was not that exciting. too many horny nerds there wanting pictures with the unattractive boothbabes and obnoxious executives who think they are gods or something... overall.. id rather go to blizzcon

proof that america's education fails

so i was watching jay leno's last night at the tonite show on his last show he had a 'the best of jaywalking' which is jay walking around asking U.S. citizens extremely basic questions about the world in general. and it is basically a compilation of the dumbest found on the face of this earth. most of the questions are amazingly easy, i admit there are some i don't know such as completing some common phrases where i have just never heard of some of these and obviously other people as well. but there are just SOME questions as americans we should know. a common question jay asks is who is the first president of the united states... you would think EVERY person that has been eduacted in the US for at least 1 year would know that question. but amazingly they don't! its like ARE YOU SERIOUS? sometimes some people are just nervous and just blurt out the first thing on their head and realize they just didnt think so they laugh it off. thats ok.. but there are some people who are like 'yes, thats the answer' typ of attitude and im like 'wow... please go back to the 3rd grade!' and then there are other things like some pretty common vocabulary like 'who wrote the autobiography of malcom x' and the fool says he doesnt know?!?! UHHHH AUTObiography you moron.. he wrote it himself. sigh.. it just amazes me how uneducated people really are with such BASIC knowledge that the general american SHOULD know. of course i understand the comedy bit takes the dumbest mofos they can find, but why do i get the feeling its not that hard for em to find these mofos. if my kids are ever like this im gonna slit my wrist
